Idaho Licensed Mortician / Funeral Director
Mini-Cassia Area – Burley & Rupert, Idaho


A locally owned and operated funeral service company in the Burley/Rupert, Idaho area (Mini-Cassia) is seeking an experienced Idaho-licensed Mortician to join our multiple-location funeral home operation.

Our funeral homes include:

Hansen Mortuary – Rupert, Idaho
Morrison Funeral Home & Crematory – Rupert, Idaho
Payne Mortuary – Burley, Idaho
Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home – Burley, Idaho

We are primarily seeking a licensed professional to assist at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert, although consideration may be given to a qualified individual who can work within our broader operation.

Qualifications:

A Mortician’s License is preferred; however, applicants possessing a Funeral Director’s License will also be considered. We will also consider individuals who are eligible to obtain an Idaho license through reciprocity or who can complete the necessary internship requirements within approximately one year.

We are looking for someone who is capable and confident in the various responsibilities associated with providing professional funeral service. Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

• Transferring decedents into our care
• Embalming and preparation
• Making funeral arrangements with families
• Coordinating and following up on paperwork, scheduling, and service details
• Conducting funeral and memorial services
• Dressing, cosmetizing, and casketing
• Preparing obituaries, funeral programs, and other printed materials
• Working compassionately and professionally with families during times of bereavement

Our current schedule generally requires:

• One night of on-call duty per week
• Every other weekend of on-call responsibility and funeral service coverage

• Every other weekend off
• When scheduled to work on a holiday, compensatory time off before or after the holiday

Compensation will be based on the experience, qualifications, and abilities of the selected candidate. Our compensation package is designed to be significantly above reported industry averages in Idaho.

Coeur D'Alene Cremation and Funeral is looking for a licensed Funeral Director due to call volume growth. Located in Coeur D'Alene, this director will split their time between Idaho and Washington State at our other locations. This position is mainly Monday - Friday with occasional weekend services. The funeral director will be on call for phones once every 8 weeks. No nighttime removals or dispatching of first call. Starting pay is $28 an hour plus paid time off, full benefits and 401K. Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Funeral Director/Embalmer.
  • Valid Funeral Director/Embalmer License and/or the ability to obtain licenses or application by endorsement in the state where business is located.
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market through community involvement; and
  • Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.


Job Duties:

  • Meets with client families to listen and arrange personalized memorial services.
  • Ensures timely and appropriate document filling in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conducts and attends services regularly.
  • Maintains open and effective communication and accurate, up-to-date client files.
  • Understand and implements company provided training.
  • Works on-call/first call with proven embalming skills in our care center location(s).
  • Utilizes proprietary software for merchandise options, contracts, and complete necessary forms.
  • Leads employees to ensure high standard of professionalism and service level is achieved; and
  • Participation in events alongside community groups and/or organizations.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting; however, some duties may be performed outdoors. Outdoor duties may require exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
  • Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity and must be willing to work safely and comply with the Company’s safety procedures, including wearing any personal protective equipment that may be required.
  • Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds, and may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Performance of this position’s duties may also require power reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • This position’s duties require routine exposure to chemicals and/or blood borne pathogens.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and maintain a good driving record and must be insurable under company vehicle insurance.

We are currently looking for a licensed director for our Idaho Falls location. Duties include, but are not limited to, meeting with families to discuss final arrangements, preparing the deceased for services, and filing proper paperwork. Prospective associates must be able to work occasional weekends and must also be available for our after-hours on-call rotation.


Prospective associates must have a valid State of Idaho Morticians License, as well as a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history. Insurance license is a plus. Pay depends on experience.

Immediate Position Available: Funeral Service Practitioner/Embalmer


Prefer licensed in Oregon OR Idaho or have the ability to get licensed quickly. Haren-Wood Family of Funeral Services consists of two funeral homes a crematory and cemetery located on the Oregon/Idaho border with facilities in both states.


Annual caseload allows time to be spent with your family for special occasions: Position requires on call every 3rd weekend and 4 evenings every 3 weeks.


As with any Funeral Home position, you must have great communication skills both in person and on the phone and be able to present yourself professionally.


Experience is preferred but will also train in the manner desired at our locations for our communities.
